Pilates improves strength, balance, posture, and flexibility. Balanced Pilates specializes in STOTT Pilates, the contemporary approach to the original Pilates method. STOTT Pilates is based on modern principles of exercise science and rehabilitation.
Betsy O'Malley is an Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapist who has been practicing Physical Therapy for 20 years. In 2005 Betsy began her study of STOTT Pilates. She believes Pilates is for anyBODY and is the key to functional longevity and physical balance. She is a STOTT certified mat, reformer, cadillac, chair and barrels instructor.
Rochelle Black is a STOTT certified instructor in both mat and reformer. She is also a MODO certified Yoga instructor. Rochelle is a retired professional dancer who now teaches all genres and levels of dance at Dean/Black School of Performing Arts.
Rochelle's love for ballet blossomed while training at the National Ballet of Canada. Dance has taken Rochelle all over the world, on cruise ships, North American tours, television shows, and more!
With over eighteen years of teaching experience, Rochelle loves sharing her passion for movement and helping others cultivate a strong mind-body connection
Beth Morgan graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy. As an OTR/L, she worked primarily with older adults in the rehabilitation setting.
In 2018, Beth became a certified STOTT Pilates instructor in Matwork, and also completed Reformer training. On top of teaching STOTT Pilates-Essential Mat, Chair Pilates, Reformer 1, and Reformer for Osteoporosis, Beth also loves to teach Springwall classes and see clients for private Pilates sessions.
Outside of her time at Balanced, Beth has two teenage sons and a golden retriever. In her spare time, she loves to travel, ski, and hike.
In 2000, Heather Zahn graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine, with minors in both exercise science and nutrition. Heather continued on to become certified as an exercise physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine in 2003. Although Heather practiced as a licensed Athletic Trainer for fifteen years, her true passion has always been wellness, predominantly focusing on exercise and nutrition.
Heather became STOTT Pilates certified in Matwork and Reformer in 2021 and is also a certified pre/postnatal Pilates instructor. At Balanced, Heather currently teaches STOTT Pilates Essential Mat, Pilates Lunch Express, Pilates Fit, and Reformer 1. She also instructs both Mat and Reformer classes designed specifically for clients with osteoporosis, and leads Balanced's Pre/Postnatal Pilates class, as well as our Intro To Pilates class.
Dr. Dawn Earnesty, PhD, RDN, completed her Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University in dietetics, her Master of Science and combined dietetic internship from Eastern Illinois University, and her PhD at Michigan State University in human nutrition. Dawn has over fifteen years of experience teaching nutrition education to adults and youth, focusing on the consumption of vegetables, fruit, and protein-rich foods and beverages. She is certified in adult weight management, and also holds a nutrition education and work life wellness specialization. Dawn joined the Balanced team in 2020 as the registered dietitian. She provides nutritional consultations, teaches group nutrition classes, and writes the nutritionally-balanced menus for Balanced Kitchen.
Madeline Wenzell is currently enrolled at Delta College, with plans to transfer to Saginaw Valley State University to complete her degree in exercise science.
Madeline joined the Balanced staff in July of 2022, with her primary responsibility being assisting Chef Robert Hadley in the kitchen. Madeline helps facilitate meal subscriptions for Balanced Kitchen members, and also keep Lobby Eats all stocked up! She loves learning about how a healthy diet has an amazing impact on one's life, and also being able to enjoy the delicious and nutritious food Balanced Kitchen has to offer. Madeline works at the Balanced front desk as well, and is going to be leading Balanced Kitchen's journey in becoming a part of the Midland Farmers Market this upcoming summer.
Outside of Balanced, Madeline enjoys spending time with her friends and family, working out, and reading!
Pamela Beebe is a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, a Health Fitness Specialist and a Certified Personal Trainer all through Delta College where she earned two associates degrees in Applied Sciences. At Balanced, Pam works as a PTA, PT Admin, Private Pilates Instructor as well as Chair Pilates Instructor. Outside of her work, Pam loves spending time with her husband, Marty, dog, Datsyuk and extended family. Pam enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, biking, running, kayaking, swimming, camping, fishing and having outdoor adventures. Helping people live healthier and more functional lives is her passion and she would love to work with you.
We Abbey earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Central Michigan University in 2018. She holds certifications in dry needling and lymphedema therapy and brings experience treating a broad range of orthopedic and women’s health conditions—including pelvic floor dysfunction and post-mastectomy care.
She’s passionate about delivering personalized care with a strong focus on patient education.
Outside the clinic, Abbey stays busy with her three kids and loves spending time with her family. She enjoys audiobooks, is an enthusiastic (though not always successful) plant caretaker, and considers herself a fair-weather runner who happily exercises indoors when the temperatures drop.
